Our client is one of the largest providers of building permits and inspection services in the western and northern regions of Melbourne. Their customers include a range of building and development companies in the residential, industrial and commercial sectors
THE ROLE
Due to recent growth we have an exciting role for an expereinced assistant or Registered Building Surveyor to come on board. This person would have a minimum of 4 years’ experience, principally in the residential checking space but also preferably with some experience checking small commercial projects such as office/shop fit-outs and small warehouse developments. Main focus is residential checking, with some commercial checking/work as needed.
DUTIES
• Reviewing documentation and issuing of building permits (or assisting)
• Managing projects from commencement to completion
• Carrying out inspections and compliance audits
• Attending of various meetings, online and in-person
• Liaising with councils, clients, contractors, authorities, fire brigade, etc
• Approving and preparing fee submissions/proposals
• Approving and issuing of invoicing
• Maintain a full understanding and appreciation of client and stakeholder service requirements and ensure that the company meets and exceeds those requirements
• Build and maintains positive relationships with clients in an effort to build trust and confidence in company services
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and actively look for opportunities to improve company processes
• Display highly developed organisational and time management skills coupled with the ability to multi-task and work to meet deadlines
• Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork
• Share ideas, knowledge and information freely
ABOUT YOU
Minimum 3 years experience in residential checking
Experience with commercial checking (preferred but not essential)
Excellent knowledge of the BCA
