Lake Mac Newy OOSH is a well-known local provider with 5 Services in the Lake Macquarie and Newcastle Areas for 15 years.
We pride ourselves on delivering quality, affordable childcare and emphasising both the educator's and the family’s interests at the centre of our values & mission.
We provide safe and fun spaces for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 to learn, play and participate in social and recreational activities. As well as interacting and forming positive relationships within their environment.
The opportunity
Due to our expansion of services and increased occupancy, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated Assistant Coordinator based at Lake Mac Newy OOSH to join our team.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an energetic, motivated, passionate and fun educator to join our strong team of professional and friendly educators.
This is a Permanent Part-Time opportunity with 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- BSC 6.30 – 9.00 am ASC 2.00 – 6.00 pm
- VC 6.30 am – 6.00 pm (as per roster)

Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum Diploma in OOSH, Certificate III in early childhood education or working towards this (with a sound understanding of regulation and compliance)
- Current Working with Children Check
- Willingness to obtain a National Police Check
- Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificates
- Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation
- Experience working with children aged between 4–13 years
- Knowledge and understanding of the NQS and My Time, Our Place Framework
- Current valid drivers licence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members
- An understanding of children's developmental areas
- Willingness to implement and contribute to the Company's Values, Vision and Mission Statement
Desirable:
- Knowledge of OWNA
- LR Driver's licence
- Educational Leader experience
Responsibilities
- Perform as the Responsible Person
- Educational leader
- Nominated supervisor.
- Plan a quality program based on children's current interests
- Support and managing staff
- Contribute and maintain the Self-Assessment Tool
- Ensure compliance with national regulations, service policies and procedures, NQF is maintained
- Administrative tasks as required
- Office management, enrolments and business development
- Foster and maintain a positive, safe and professional environment
- Work collaboratively with all staff, children, families, schools and the community
- Utilise a diverse and inclusive mindset
