The section sits within the Integrity, Security, and Property Branch in the Chief People Officer Division. Crucially, this position supervises a multidisciplinary team and can be called on to act as Director of the section from time to time.
The key duties of the position include
- Lead a multi-disciplinary customer service oriented team.
- Build and sustain relationships with a range of key suppliers including DVA's Whole of Australian Government (WoAG) Property Services Provider (PSP) Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL).
- Anticipate and respond to internal client needs, including maintaining relationships with the DVA SES cohort. This may include negotiating achievable outcomes in an environment of limited resources and competing priorities.
- Be resilient by responding positively in the face of mutually exclusive demands and take personal responsibility for outcomes.
- Identify learning opportunities to enable cross skilling in a small multi-disciplinary team.
- Manage the Facilities Management function for DVA - approximately 3,000 work orders per year, including both reactive and preventative maintenance.
- Assess and approve expenditure for maintenance works totalling $1.8-$2.0m per annum.
- Implement procedures and performance measures ensuring business support continuity.
- Liaise with Department property service provider Jones Lang LaSalle, and other key suppliers, to ensure timely completion of works and successful client outcomes.
- Maintain relationships with property teams in other government departments, particularly the ATO.
- Work collaboratively with internal business groups to maintain efficient and effective use of space based on current and projected requirements.
- Provide advice to senior management as required and contribute data and analysis to the DVA Strategic Property Plan.
- Manage the conflicting priorities inherent in Space Management.
- Oversee the management of the DVA vehicle fleet and contract
- Implement the Climate Action in Government Operations strategy as it applies to vehicle fleets, including the transition to a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) fleet.
- Manage the department's stationery contract and operations.
- Prepare monthly accrual calculations for input to the Financial Reporting team.
