Assistant Director – Mawson Before and After SchoolCare Program
Mawson Out of School Hours Care is looking for an Assistant Director to join our leadership team. This is the perfect role for a team leader or experienced educator looking to step into a management role. This position does not require regular split shifts.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has the requirements for an ACECQA approved first qualified educator eg. Diploma in Early Education and Care, Diploma in School Age Care, 2 years experience working with School Age Children AND 2 years in a Bachelor Degree.
- Has a current ACT WWVP card or are willing to obtain
- Has a First aid, asthma and anaphylaxis certificates, or are willing to obtain
- Has a strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, including My Time Our Place or the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Enjoys sharing their skills and knowledge with children and educators
- Has the ability to build strong, trusting relationships between children, families, the school and team members.

About the role:
- Mawson Out of School Hours Care is located at Mawson Primary School and is licensed for 132 children.
- The Mawson OSHC Leadership team includes a Director, Assistant Director, Team Leaders and Deputy Team Leaders. They are supported by consistent casual educators.
- The Assistant Director will support the Director in the day-to-day management of the program and ensure all Educators, Families and Children are welcomed and feel a sense of belonging.
- The Assistant Director at Mawson is the Educational Leader and will also receive the Educational Leader allowance of $2.02 per day.
- This is a full-time role with predominately block shifts of 7.6 hours each day, with the option of split shifts if this is preferred. There may be the requirement to work ad hoc split shifts in the absence of leadership team members. If required to work a split shift, a split shift allowance of $19.00 per day will be paid.
- The Assistant Director works on the floor during the core hours for Before School Care (early shift) and After School Care (late shift) with admin in the middle of the day.
- Competitive wage, including:
- Children’s Services Award – Children’s Services Employee Level 5 with salary from $32.25- $33.67 (with the 3.75% increase in July), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Educational Leader allowance of $2.03 per hour
