The NBA is an Australian Government statutory agency whose role is to work in a collaborative manner with the Commonwealth and all State and Territory governments and other responsible parties to ensure that Australia's blood supply is safe, secure, adequate, and affordable. For 20 years, the National Blood Authority (NBA) has delivered an uninterrupted supply of blood and blood products to Australians in need under the national blood arrangements.
Job Context
You will be part of the Finance and Business Services section. This section is responsible for the management of all financial (including a budget of over $1.8 billion), business services, and Program Assurance and enabling risk activities across the NBA. The Assistant Director, Program Assurance and Risk will provide strategic advice and support to the NBA Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and the broader NBA, lead the delivery of high quality services to ensure the NBA meets government obligations in Program Assurance, risk management, fraud and corruption governance, business continuity and other associated activities. We are looking for a person with strong collaboration and negotiation skills, a focus on driving a positive and highly effective culture, knowledge and experience and a proven track record in Program Assurance and Risk management. The successful applicant will have well developed analytical skills, attention to detail and a working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines. Their inclusive and engaging approach with stakeholders will be complemented by sound judgement, strong communication skills and resilience.
