Our client, a Commonwealth Government organisation whose focus is to provide support to Australian's living with disability, are Seeking the experience of an Assistant Director - Project Management Office (PMO) for a long 12 month contract based in ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC or WA.
Duties of the Assistant Director - Project Management Office
- Assist the Director of the Technology Delivery Office in setting strategic direction and priorities for Project Management initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and team members to ensure projects are executed effectively and efficiently.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the PMO.
- Oversee the development and management of the project portfolios, including prioritization, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
- Monitor project performance against established goals, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess project status, risks, and dependencies, and communicate findings to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement of Project Management processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional departments to ensure alignment and transparency.
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years experience in ICT Project Management or ICT Project Management Office roles.
- Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies and ability to deliver continual to the ICT Project Management process and associated delivery processes.
- Proven ability to foster high performing teams through empowering and mentoring.
- Experience working with government organisations and understanding of government processes and regulations (desired).
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing complex multi-stakeholder processes within a large enterprise organisation (desired).
