About the Role:
In the role of Assistant Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Engineering Manager in various aspects of hotel operations. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Engineering Manager in overseeing the maintenance and functionality of all engineering systems within the hotel premises.
As Assistant Engineering Manager, you will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to, coordinating repair and maintenance schedules, supervising engineering staff, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. You will also collaborate closely with other departments to address any engineering-related issues that may arise and to ensure seamless operations throughout the hotel.
Main Responsibilities:
In a Full time capacity, you will be responsible for:
- Assist the Engineering Manager in overseeing the maintenance and functionality of all engineering systems within the hotel premises.
- Supervise engineering staff, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and according to standards.
- To undertake repair and maintenance tasks as required.
- To maintain structure, furniture, fittings and equipment to the best.
- To co-ordinate and communicate intra and inter departmentally to effect repairs and maintenance to the property.
- To ensure all work undertaken by Technical Services staff and contractors complies with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
- To provide appropriate staff, contractor supervision to ensure work is co-ordinated and completed in line with operational needs.
- To plan repairs and maintenance to ensure plant and equipment remains fully operational whilst meeting the Hotel’s operational needs.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of similar work experience in a large operation preferably Hotels
- Must have an Australian Standard or trade qualification license.
- Good at communication, both verbal and written.
- Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
