What Aurora Dairies can offer you

Aurora Dairies are currently seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for a dairy farm in Nambrok, located 20 minutes from both Maffra and Sale in Victoria’s Gippsland region.

The farm is approximately 247ha of effective pasture with 200ha under 6 centre pivot irrigation, and 15ha under flood irrigation. Currently milking 1,000 Friesian and Friesian cross cows, through a 44 bail rotary shed with ACR’s and auto teat spray. We run a two herd system with an easy entry and exit.

The farm is predominantly pasture based with grain fed in the dairy. This farm is 100% Spring calving starting in July rearing 350-400 replacements.

Accommodation is available and we may have employment opportunities for your partner on one of our nearby farms, if required.

This role will include tasks the areas of:

• Supporting the Farm Manager as second in charge.
• Driving and upholding Animal Health and Safe Operating Procedures.
• Herd management and nutrition, including calving, hospital herd care, AI/mating planning, dairy shed work and more.
• Irrigation and pasture management.
• Supervising staff.
• Machinery operation.
• Repairs and maintenance.

The desired skills and experience for this opportunity are:

• Extensive dairy industry experience (a minimum of 3 years).
• Tertiary qualification(s) in Agriculture or a related field is desired.
• Committed to ensuring a safe workplace.
• Reliable and punctual and ability to take responsibility.
• Good work ethic and positive attitude.
• Leadership skills and team player.
