Assistant Fleet Controller - Bricks

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join BGC Transport in the role of Assistant Fleet Controller. You will be responsible to effectively coordinate, schedule, allocate and prioritise workload of orders to company and subcontractor drivers based on customer demands within the Metro and Country areas for the delivery of Bricks and Masonry products.
  
 Key responsibilities of the role are but not limited to:

• Ensures planning, truck movements and allocation of deliveries are undertaken daily in a cost-effective manner
• Ensure Driver allocations are suitable based on capacity;
• Ensure all Driver's run sheets job allocations are completed on time;
• Creating transport routes based on business and customer needs;
• Ensure all fleet is operating effectively and efficiently;
• Schedule the fleet of vehicles liaising with drivers to ensure materials are delivered on time;
• Scheduling work in the most cost-effective manner to utilise all vehicles and equipment efficiently;
• Coordinate planning and allocation of pickup and delivery tasks across the Perth metro and WA Regional areas;
• Ensure all pickups and deliveries are completed in accordance with customer and legislative requirements;
• Handling incoming and outgoing calls

If you have the some or all of the following skills and experience, we'd like to hear from you:

• Previous experience in road Transport / Fleet Controller or Scheduler;
• Sound knowledge of metro Perth and regional WA;
• Knowledge of Scheduling system (Universe) or similar;
• Proactive and organised, with proven problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal;
• High degree of professionalism, confidentially and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
• High level of competency in Microsoft Office packages;
• Current WA Drivers Licence.
