AddressAssistant Gardener - Bayside City Council
Depot Location - Kilpa Road, Moorabbin
Citywide is recruiting for an Assistant Gardenerto work on our Bayside City Council contract. This role involves day to day maintenance of parks, gardens and landscape features (i.e. ponds, bluestone retaining walls, boardwalks etc.) as well as the maintenance and installation of non-horticultural space assets (i.e. playgrounds, park benches, sail shades etc.).
- Full-time Monday to Friday (with overtime available - dependent on the volume of work)
- Attractive working hours - 6.30 am to 2.36 pm
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintenance, installation and repair of parks, sports facilities, landscape features and community facilities
- Mowing, detailing, litter removal, weed control, playground soft fall maintenance, irrigation maintenance, machinery use and maintenance
- Ensure work is carried out in a safe and professional manner
- Ensure vehicles and worksite are maintained to a high standard
Skills and qualifications required:
Mandatory
- Must be team orientated, highly motivated and able to follow instructions however must also be able to work autonomously
- Knowledge and appreciation of OH&S
- Current Victorian Driver’s license
- Working with Children Check
- Police Check
Desirable
- General Horticulture experience
- Manual Driver's License
- Medium Rigid Driver License
- Knowledge of herbicide application techniques
- Flexibility to work overtime including weekends
- Traffic Management experience
- Chemical Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
