About the Opportunity
As an Assistant or Qualified Gardener, you'll play a pivotal role in the maintenance and management of Melbourne's renowned parks and gardens.
Working closely with the Horticultural Supervisor, you'll be responsible for executing general maintenance tasks with precision and professionalism. From ensuring contractual obligations are met to collaborating seamlessly within a team, you'll contribute to the upkeep of these prestigious outdoor spaces. What you'll be doing
- Ensure all horticultural tasks are executed with professionalism and precision, adhering to high standards.
- Perform tasks effectively and efficiently to meet workload demands promptly.
- Adhere strictly to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHS&E) requirements during task execution.
- Water plants and lawn areas at specified times to maintain optimal health and vitality.
- Operate all plant, vehicles, and equipment safely, ensuring proper maintenance and reporting any defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate records, including timesheets, maintenance logs, and training documentation, in line with management system requirements.
About you - your ideal skills & experience
- Desirable: Certified in Gardening and/or Landscaping with demonstrated experience in park and garden maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changes efficiently.
- Effective time management and workload prioritization abilities.
- Proven experience working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
