Wollongong Golf Club is situated on a magnificent stretch of pristine coastline. Its close proximity to the city and the beach, the fantastic views along the coast and the stunning mountain backdrop, make it one of the most unique golfing experiences in NSW. Wollongong Golf Club has hosted the likes of major champions Gene Sarazen, Gary Player, Bobby Locke and Steve Elkington since the Club’s inception.

The true links style course plays alongside the beach where members and visitors are welcome to enjoy a round.

The course has 5 holes adjoining the beach, with a mountain backdrop and great views of the natural landscape. Established in 1897, a decade before electricity came to the town, the Club has the honour of being one of the oldest in the country.

Although Wollongong Golf Club is one of the oldest in Australia, and has just passed a 125-year milestone, the core values and philosophy have remained the same with mate ship, enrichment and respect being at the heart of everything we do.

Included under the Wollongong Golf Club umbrella is The Nineteenth and City Diggers Club, making it one of the largest hospitality providers in the Illawarra. 

To support this vision to be a strong, vibrant member owned organisation, Wollongong Golf Club is seeking an AssistantGolf Operations Manager, to join our fun and dynamic team!  The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with managing the day-to-day Golf and Club experience including F & B and retail.  You will provide Golf Australia and club directive programs as well as proshop based hours.

The role:

• Ensuring exceptional customer service at the pro shop and golfing facility.
• Assist in overseeing and enforcing the pro shop operations, policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory and resources.
• Assist in overseeing and managing retail for the proshop.
• Assist in overseeing pro shop staff.
• Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
• Strives to improve service performance.
• Displays a strong leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
• Deliver Golf Australia and club directive programs.
• Act as a role model to all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of employees.
• Administering member competitions, timesheet bookings, handicap queries etc.
• Tee management and player supervision / education on the golf course.
• Golf Club repairs.
• Invoicing and stock take.
• Collection of green and competition fees.
• Teaching renumeration split to be discussed with successful candidate.

Essential:

• Previous experience in customer service and sales.
• Previous experience in golf operation
• RSA competency card.
