The role will work with and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife.

Base salary rates between $32.23 and $35.29 p.h. (Assistant in Midwifery, Nurse Grade 1 - Band 1).
Base salary rate of $33.33 p.h. (Undergraduate Student in Midwifery, Nurse Grade 2 - 2nd Year).
Requirements
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be indigenous to the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
- Appointment as an Assistant in Midwifery: Applicants who meet one of the following criteria are considered highly desirable:
- Hold a relevant Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Service Assistant or equivalent, or
- Successful completion of the first semester full-time equivalent Diploma of Nursing/Midwifery course including all theoretical and clinical competencies.
- Appointment as an Undergraduate Student in Midwifery (2nd Year):
- Successful completion of the first year full-time equivalent undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery course including all theoretical and clinical competencies is mandatory.
- Pre-employment screening will be undertaken for the successful applicant.
- Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
