About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have 2.00 FTE to fill on a Permanent Full Time and/or Permanent Part Time basis on the Dialysis Unit at Kalgoorlie Health Campus.
Part Time hours to be negotiated with the manager to meet operational requirements.
Gaburu Dialysis Unit
This is a stand-alone dialysis service provided at Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital for patients with end stage renal disease from across the region. Treatment is provided by Registered Nurses six days per week, with access to local Physicians and the services of a visiting Nephrologist. The unit currently has seven chairs which enable it dialyse up to 28 patients three times weekly. Staff also provide care to patients in the region undergoing Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis in conjunction with the Home Dialysis Unit at Royal Perth Hospital
Key responsibilities include:
The primary responsibility of an Assistant in Nursing is to the provide nursing care for patients within the scope of practice of an Assistant in Nursing and deliver quality patient care in consultation with, and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

About You
The successful applicant will have:
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing work in acute care)
OR Evidence of successful completion of either: a) Stage 1-3 (50% completion) of a Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) approved Bachelor of Nursing Program or b) Stage 1-4 (50% completion) of an NMBA approved dual Bachelor of Science (Nursing)/Bachelor of Science (Midwifery) program and academic good standing; and current and ongoing course enrolment (including evidence of current successful completion of Basic Life Support, Manual/Safe Handling and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) training (inclusive of COVID-19 IPC training). - Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, written and verbal, inclusive of numeric skills.
- Demonstrated ability and knowledge of safe manual handling procedures, including patient handling.
