9E is a 30 bed Acute Aged Care ward, including an 8 bed acute dementia specific unit. The ward caters for patients above the age of 85, with multiple co-morbidities including Alzheimer’s & Dementia, Delirium, Behavioural and Psycological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD). The unit boasts dedicated staff, great teamwork and regular learning opportunities.
What you'll be doing
The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.
Provision of support to the nursing team in order to deliver a high standard of care to NSLHD patients.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing or degree deemed appropriate or completion of HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care).
- Demonstrated, effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
- Demonstrated computer skills with experience using MS Office programs and electronic filing systems.
