About the position
The Assistant Irrigation Technician position will be responsible for assisting the Irrigation Technician in maintaining irrigation systems on sporting fields and high-profile parks throughout Toowoomba.
This position will work under limited supervision.
- The base wage rate for this position is $1,088.81 gross per 38 hour week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- This is a Permanent Full time position based at the Principal Depot in Charlton.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain plant / machinery consistent with qualifications held / required to the principles of best practice and Council standards.
- Basic numeracy, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to complete daily works tasks neatly and correctly.
- Ability to perform physical labouring tasks and a broad range of tasks requiring developed industry skills.
- Demonstrated ability in maintenance/installations of irrigation system.
- Demonstrated ability to understand directions and to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
- Understanding of and commitment to Council’s Organisational Value and Behaviour of Teamwork.
