About the position

The Assistant Irrigation Technician position will be responsible for assisting the Irrigation Technician in maintaining irrigation systems on sporting fields and high-profile parks throughout Toowoomba.

This position will work under limited supervision.

  • The base wage rate for this position is $1,088.81 gross per 38 hour week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
  • This is a Permanent Full time position based at the Principal Depot in Charlton.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

  1.   2. Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain plant / machinery consistent with qualifications held / required to the principles of best practice and Council standards.
  3. Basic numeracy, written and oral communication skills.
  4. Ability to complete daily works tasks neatly and correctly.
  5. Ability to perform physical labouring tasks and a broad range of tasks requiring developed industry skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability in maintenance/installations of irrigation system.
  7. Demonstrated ability to understand directions and to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice in a helpful and supportive manner.
  9. Understanding of and commitment to Council’s Organisational Value and Behaviour of Teamwork.
