In the role of an Assistant Laboratory Technician, you will be working on-site with our Laboratory team in conjunction with our Soil, Environmental, Resource Recovery and Horticulture Scientists.

You will be based at our Laboratory in Thornleigh, Sydney and will be responsible for physical soil characterisation testing such as bulk density, particle size analysis and hydraulic conductivity using specialised equipment.
Key duties include:
- Ensuring the timely preparation and testing of samples to meet client turnaround times
- Assisting in and performing sample preparation tasks with soils, plant tissues, composts, and potting mixes by being involved in the handling, drying, weighing, and grinding processes
- Day-to-day upkeep of physical laboratory testing equipment
- Maintaining general laboratory cleanliness
- Other duties and responsibilities as directed by the laboratory management team
There is future scope to be involved in field sampling as required by the business.

We are seeking talented Assistant Laboratory Technicians who want to advance their career with a well-established and trusted niche laboratory. Ideally you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in science or a related discipline will be highly regarded
- Experience in physical analysis will be highly regarded
- Experience managing a workload of large sample numbers and multitasking by running numerous tests at different workstations simultaneously
- Experience with LIMS preferred
- Experience working in a NATA accredited laboratory an advantage
- Self-motivation with the ability to work unsupervised
- Excellent organisational skills
- A commitment to safety, quality, and the environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to apply initiative
- Australian drivers' licence
