Our client's family-run farm is seeking a dedicated Assistant Farm Manager to take charge and actively engage in the daily activities of their farming property. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the owner and team members, thriving in an environment that fosters initiative and self-motivation. Our client seeks a leader who sets the pace, working alongside their team to achieve collective goals. The farm spans approximately 3700 acres of thriving agricultural land, located in a supportive family-run farm community. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management and cultivation of farming land, watering, spraying & harvesting
- Implement and manage irrigation systems and watering schedules
- Supervise and build a cohesive, motivated team
- Operate and maintain farm equipment
- Plan and execute crop cultivation strategies
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the owner and team
- Take direction and contribute to the owner’s vision for the farm
- Lead by example in all aspects of farm operations
Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of cropping experience
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a team
- Strong understanding of farm operations and equipment maintenance
- Forward-thinking and positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work closely with the owner and team to establish trust and achieve goals
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the owner’s vision over time
- Hands-on approach, ready to lead by example in all farm activities
- Current experience as a senior farm hand who is ready to take the next step in your career
