About the role
The Assistant Manager will play an important role in leading the planning, implementation, and evaluation of student lifecycle initiatives and services, aligning with the department’s strategic objectives. This role will lead the enhancement of operational efficiency and drive a positive culture change within the team and broader directorate.
Through management of day-to-day operations, leading improvement initiatives, and formulating service design and delivery, the Assistant Manager will execute a comprehensive program of work. This will ensure service consistency, anticipate future and emerging needs, and provide support to the Manager.
The Assistant Manager will provide advice, produce high-quality reports for Executives, and oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of operational policies and processes.
To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrated experience managing service delivery in a customer centric service environment.
- Proven ability analysing service delivery to both provide strategic advice and implement significant improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing and/or improving service strategies, frameworks, and evaluation methodologies.
- Advanced interpersonal, facilitation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands, workload planning and personal resilience.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Some out of hour’s work may be required during peak periods in line with business needs.
- The incumbent may need to travel to an alternative location, when required.
- Intrastate and interstate travel may be required.
- Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Development Program.
- Incumbent must be eligible to work in Australia.
