To continue our growth and maintain our high standards, we are actively seeking an experienced assistant to Operations Manager to oversee our daily activities. We’re in search of an individual with a sharp business intellect and a proven track record in managing multiple departments to maximize productivity. Our ideal candidate should possess exceptional skills in human resources and productivity management.

Key Objectives:

• Oversee daily yard operations, ensuring safe systems of work.
• Assist with assigning and delegating tasks to yard personnels, ensure staff are carrying out their duties
• Maintain constant communication with managers, staff, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations within the company.
• Increase the efficiency of existing processes/production.
• Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be involved with a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including career development plans for direct reports and problem resolution.
• Assist with maintenance of assets and equipment’s, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service to achieve productivity targets.
• Work closely with legal and safety departments to ensure that activities remain compliant.
• Assist with supervising projects
• Liaise with transport manager for daily incoming and outgoing loads.
• Oversee materials and inventory.
• Monitor customers’ accounts payable, purchases, sales and profit.
• Oversee maintenance of yard equipment such as material handler, forklift, shears and balers to ensure all are in safe working order.
• Perform walk-through follow-ups with the manager
• Assist on yard activities and process materials during peak times to ensure productivity
