Learn more about our business here.Capability Life Cycle Management (CLCM)The CLCM is integrated into the System Program Office (SPO) and contracted to deliver through-life asset management of Products being supported (PBS). The CLCM performs asset, sustainment and engineering functions to optimise availability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and minimise risk through life of the PBS. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with Regional Maintenance Centre’s (RMC) to plan maintenance activities and installation of capability upgrades. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with the Design Services Contract (DSC) to plan and execute engineering changes and services. The CLCM delivers functions against the contract scope across the Asset Class Enterprise to support Defence Maritime Capability.The Opportunity:The Logistics Engineer supports the Engineering Lead to deliver engineering services in accordance with DSD-ENG-SERV and specifically related to Logistics Support Analysis (LSA). The Logistics Engineer provides mentorship to fellow Engineers and reviews engineering deliverables within the scope of Logistics Engineering and LSA activities as identified to support engineering change. The Logistics Engineer works collaboratively and provides guidance to all stakeholders on technical matters including but not limited to LSA, Maintenance Requirements Determination (MRD), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) on the PBS.Responsibilities:The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
- Independently review Logistics Engineering deliverables, including the Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR), and provide assurance that logistics support data is maintained, updated and configuration baseline managed within the data environments.
- Deliver logistics engineering activities to ensure compliance with approved policy, plans and processes. Conduct work to the requirements of the Engineering or Logistics Management Plans.
- Develop tasking statements for design tasks to be executed in accordance with the planned schedule.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop logistics solutions and requirements in the context of Engineering Change Management, Configuration management, Systems Safety and Certification.
- Work within and to the requirements of Navy Seaworthiness framework and the ACSSPO Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO).
- Verify new Request for Problem Resolution (RPR) against the approved Requirements baseline and the LSAR.
- Formulate solutions to problems by working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Under general supervision, independently evaluate, select and apply standard logistics engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience coupled with relevant qualifications).
- Eligible to obtain SQEP Engineering Delegation Authority within an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Defence or related technical industry (CASG/Defence/Defence Industry experience).
- Training in LSA or MRD or equivalent vocational training.
- Demonstrated Logistics engineering experience in industry sectors such as Defence, Maritime, Rail, Manufacturing, Water, Mining or Oil and Gas.
- Experience in the application of RCM2 and RCM3 and MIL-STDs for RCM.
- Experience in the application of DEF(AUST) 5691 and 5692.
- Experience in use of reliability analysis software applications (OPUS, MADe, eLESPro etc) to support LSAR.
- Experience in use of DOORS.
- Experience in managing contractors to deliver Support Systems.
- Experience in ship’s systems preferred.
- Experience in marine design preferred.
- Experience with Department of Defence design delivery.
