Education and Care - Assistant Manager

Lady Gowrie is seeking an Education and Care Assistant Manager for our Pedder Long Day Care Service in South Launceston. Lady Gowrie is a non-for-profit community-based organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 12 years of age.

Role: Education and Care Assistant Manager

Location: Pedder, South Launceston

Employment Type: Part-time, 4 days per week, 8 hours per day

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Education and Care Assistant Managers work closely with the Education & Care Manager to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe play-based programs in line with Lady Gowrie’s philosophy Children First.

The Pedder Long Day Care Service is licenced for 50 children each day supported by a team of 15 Education and Care Practitioners & an Educational Leader working with our Northern Services supporting Pedagogy and Practice.

The Education and Care Assistant Manager reports to the Pedder Education and Care Manager.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Contribute to all service-based decisions associated with safety, compliance and continuous quality improvement under National Law are acted upon across the service
  • Build strong trusting relationships with children, families, and your team.
  • Work collaboratively with the Educational Leader to develop team capability in delivering an inclusive program
  • Assist with waitlist lists, enrolments & transitions of children between groups and the prompt filling of vacancies in relation to organisational policies and procedures when required.
  • Support the service to meeting the national quality standards, through Assessment and Rating process, and visits from the Regulatory Authority
  • Ensure that your team develops and delivers a fun and educational program that meets the needs and interests of every child.
  • Ensure that all staff are supported to manage their professional responsibilities.
  • Support Education and Care Manager to implement staff rosters to support high quality service provision, staff equity and cost-effective service delivery

ABOUT YOU

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in early education and care or the equivalent (preferred), or Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care (or equivalent)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Minimum of 5 years-experience in the Early Education and Care sector.
  • Proven understanding and practical application of Education and Care Regulations, National Law, and National Quality Framework
  • Have a passion for creating exciting, fun, and meaningful learning and play experiences for children.
  • Have strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Have experience with Storypark and Qikkids or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Hold a current Tasmanian registration for Working with Vulnerable People (Child Related Activity) for an employee.
  • Current Police Check
