Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator

- Fixed-term employment contract offered at 0.8 to 1.0 FTE (minimum 0.8FTE by negotiation)
- Fixed-term employment contract for 12 months, with potential opportunity for extension
- Program Coordinator level 1 $77,490 (0.8 - 1.0 FTE pro rata) plus superannuation as per the superannuation guarantee levy.
NRM North is seeking a Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator to coordinate and implement NRM North’s Sustainable Agriculture Program and projects and to support and foster relationships with relevant key stakeholders identified within Program plans. The NRM North Sustainable Agriculture Program aims to improve vegetation, soil health and the adoption of best management practices in productive agricultural landscapes for improved productivity, sustainability and resilience in northern Tasmania.
The successful applicant will have an excellent knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in applying, Sustainable Agriculture and natural resource management principles and practices. They will have strong project delivery skills including the capability of working in the field collecting data and monitoring on-ground projects and have excellent communication and relationship building skills.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Good interpersonal communication and negotiation skills including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively within the organisation, with landholders, and with a wide range of people within external organisations and the general public;
- Experience or familiarity with key principles of project management including project development, tracking milestones, budgets, WHS, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and implementing adaptive management processes;
- A sound knowledge of concepts, principles and procedures related to Sustainable Agriculture and natural resource management or similar related sector; and
- An ability to work effectively in a small, multi-disciplinary team that responds to various demands and manages multiple activities simultaneously;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal);
- Ability to travel throughout the region or state as required; and
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
