Job description

About the role: This Position manages the Payroll function to ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time. The Payroll Manager is responsible for a high performing payroll team, providing operational and strategic expertise in relation to all aspects of Payroll
Our team: (Finance) We support planning, budgeting, and buying things across Pearson. We're responsible for financial reporting and communications. We also look after our offices and global property, and global risk.
As a Payroll Manager, you'll be responsible for:
Support the delivery and payroll administration of the annual compensation review (including award based employees) and incentive plan cycle
Assist the global mobility team with payroll processing for international transfers and employment changes
Coach and develop the team on compliance and regulations within the context of the organization's practices and policies
Ensure Compliance to relevant industrial instruments including awards and enterprise agreements
Manage the preparation of all State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax and Superannuation Guarantee contributions
Compliance with State and Federal payroll, wage and tax obligations
Assist with reconciliations as required including payment against award entitlements (Annualised salary), superannuation etc.
Proactively build and manage relationship with current and future vendors including but not limited to ADP, Deputy, Colonial First State, Tax advisors
Provide advice and education to the business and employees in relation to pay issues, award/ legislation changes and new policies
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
End to end payroll processing experience
Experience with Managing a payroll team
Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Excel
Experience with ADP Payforce, Managed Services
Experience with and detailed understanding of Group and Payroll Tax, Superannuation obligations and reporting
