About the role
Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, this position is responsible for effective payroll processing, governance and industrial compliance within our payroll system, processes and practices.
As part of a busy and dynamic team, your flexibility and natural agility will be called upon, as you provide professional and timely support to the Payroll team. Your day will involve a range of payroll related tasks, including;
- Mentor members of the payroll team
- Manage payroll stream for the ACL Group, which includes payroll under five EBAs / Modern Award as well as salaried staff
- Ensure appropriate governance and controls / compliance practices are maintained and any risks associated with payroll are minimized
- Ensure the company is compliant with its legal and statutory obligations including, but not limited to, payroll, payroll tax and superannuation.
- Regularly conduct data audits and identify areas of improvement
- Superannuation Guarantee Contribution (SGC) reconciliation and remittance
- End to end payroll processing (STP)
- Liaise with key stakeholders / employees regarding their concerns / queries
- Payroll tax reconciliation and remittance
- Lead payroll projects as directed by Group Payroll Manager

Selection criteria
- Experience contributing as a senior member of a full function payroll team.
- PayGlobal experience including but not limited to maintenance / creation of pay rules and pay rates.
- Deputy rostering software experience highly desirable.
- Proven experience with payroll projects / implementation is desirable.
- Experience within a medium to high volume processing environment is desirable.
- Strong understanding of complex EBA's and Awards.
- Previous experience within Aged Care / Health Services highly desirable.
- Excellent Excel skills and Microsoft Office suite.
