We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Manager with well rounded food and beverage knowledge, to help drive our venue. You'll work in a team of approved managers to open/close the venue and cover lunch and dinner services plus special events.
The Position:
The Assistant Manager will provide support to the other managers, chefs and food/beverage staff on shift. This person will be well-versed in the following:
- Operational control over 4 bars, dinning room, functions and events; Opening and closing the venue in line with security and standard operating procedures;
- Promote a culture of customer engagement, retention and strong loyalty by leading innovative and targeted initiatives, which maintains venue popularity year-round;
- Solid understanding of high-volume food and beverage outlets;
- Helping with creation, management and execution of beverage menus for the dining room, lounge bar and front bar;
- Compliance and understanding around safety policy and procedures
- Ability to train front of house food and beverage staff;
- Understanding of labour targets and rostering;
- Work with the Function Manager to manage and coordinate a calendar of functions and events;
- Maintain a high standard of venue presentation and attention to detail;
- Joining a team of five passionate Assistant Managers, Function Manager and Venue Manager;
- Reporting to the Venue Manager and other relevant Support Office staff to drive the business forward.
About you:
- A passionate career-minded hospitality worker with minimum 3 years recent experience in similar role;
- High level of attention to detail and skills with the management and execution of a variety of beverage lists; cocktails, wine, spirits, beer, non-alcoholic drinks;
- Has a passion for training and upskilling staff;
- Positivity in the face of adversity;
- Proven managerial experience in large busy hospitality venues;
- Excellent understanding of; wage targets and cost of goods targets and how to combat poor results;
- Excellent management and multitasking skills;
- Solid communication, negotiation and relationship skills;
- Flexible availability to suit the needs of a hospitality business, days, nights, public holidays and weekends;
- Good understanding of stock control, POS reporting and receival of goods;
- Competent IT Skills;
- Permanent visa holders and Australian residents welcome;
