What this job involves:

We’re looking for a motivated Assistant Operations Manager to join our team based on site at World Square Shopping Centre! You will be the primary point of contact for facilities management services (both soft & hard), including day to day operations, maintenance, contractor management and stakeholder engagement.

World Square shopping and dining precinct is at a crossroad of global cultures, offering a must-do experience in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. From early morning coffee to evening explorations, from fabulous fashion to a late-night pharmacy and the convenience of supermarkets, it’s all here. If it’s a drink and dine experience you hunger for, then head to any one of the restaurants and bars or grab a takeaway!

A snapshot of the role:

  • JLL & client risk management reporting requirements are met, accurately and within required timeframes
  • Contractors and staff are inducted and receive up-to-date site-specific training
  • Operations and maintenance conform to the Building Code of Australia and other relevant statutory accountabilities
  • Properties’ various systems, plant and equipment, surface finishes, structure and surrounds are correctly serviced to the manufacturer’s specifications, and/or maintained and repaired to the required standard
  • Monitor the issuing and close out of PPM tasks to ensure contract compliance, incorporating tenant maintenance as per their lease agreement
  • Prepare and monitor works orders, to ensure timing receipt of invoices and invoices processed accurately and timely
  • Actively contribute to the budgeting and business planning process for each property
  • Address relevant customer complaints promptly and effectively. Liaise with retailers and centre management in providing guidance and support with health and safety issues

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Highly organised with a methodical approach to work, the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • A high degree of independence is required on a day-to-day basis, working closely with the Centre Team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Keen interest in building operations, engineering, systems, and compliance
  • Experienced in property administration or operational roles
  • Working in a similar or complementary role for 1 to 2 years
  • Able to demonstrate the required skills, and looking for a career in property operations
