Wilson Park school for Specific Purposes is located in Lismore and is a member of the Lismore Community for schools and the Rivers P-12 learning community. The school delivers high quality education for students with a disability from Pre-school to year 12 in a combined primary and secondary setting. The school provides education for students living in Lismore and the surrounding area, with an enrolment of 80 students, 25% of these students being from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
Wilson Park School for specific purposes supports learning for all students through an inclusive curriculum, providing learning adjustments for every student. All families are involved in individual education planning meetings and are collaborative partners in the learning process. The school is committed to continually improving effective classroom practices with professional learning being the key to ensuring a positive learning environment.

Selection Criteria- Approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience and expertise to support students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, physical needs, autism, complex communication needs and challenging behaviours.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead and effectively manage the dual role of an Assistant Principal and exemplary classroom teacher, with the ability to strengthen collaborative practice and build staff capabilities, leading to improved student learning outcomes.
- Experience working with students with challenging behaviours and emotional disturbance, completing risk assessments and developing behaviour management plans.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
