Position Overview:

As an Assistant Project Manager /Contract Administrator you will be involved in a diverse range of high-end residential projects, working within a dynamic and forward-thinking team. You will be involved with the full lifecycle of projects and be mentored by the Project Managers and the company Director. You will support our Project Management Team in achieving seamless project execution. Your responsibilities include monitoring budgets, assessing variations, drafting contract correspondence, and assisting the PM’s on planning, execution and delivery of projects.
 

Your Core Responsibilities

Contract Administration:

  • Prepare high-standard contractual correspondence.
  • Undertake contract administration duties, including progress claim verification and payment certificate issuance.
  • Prepare commercially acceptable contract documents on approved templates.
  • Support contractual establishment and control mechanisms interfacing with Finance and other business units.
  • Process progress claims, variations, and disputes, liaising with Legal Counsel as needed.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts for new procurement packages.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant progress claims and payment certificates.
  • Monitor contracts and contractors in conjunction with Commercial and Project Delivery Teams.
  • Manage contract securities and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Complete month-end contract reporting requirements.

Project Management:

  • Assist Senior PM’s on planning, execution, and delivery of projects 
  • Assist Senior PM’s manage project scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and procurement to achieve project objectives.
  • Liaise with all internal & external stakeholders and support the delivery of the assigned packages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including consultants such as PMs, cost, procurement consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor & report project progress, identify & report potential risks to implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Assist Senior PM’s on planning, updating, tracking, and reporting of budgets and forecasts.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project team members.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports.
  • Visit project sites 1-2 times a month for progress inspection, site and/or community meetings.

What Makes You Ideal for the Role:

  • Experience on construction projects over $2 million preferred 
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred but not essential
  • Working towards or achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture or related construction degree 
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills, alongside analytical rigour and diligence
  • Understanding of relevant codes & standards, as well as strong financial management, contract administration and management reporting
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team and with a consistent 360 degree stakeholder mentality
  • Procore experience preferred, but training offered
