About the opportunity:

We seek a Client-Side Assistant Project Manager to join our client side, Defence Works, located on our head office in Darwin.

You’ll work side-by-side with the project delivery team to ensure the success of projects — from its pre-design phase to its completion. You’ll assemble and lead various project teams, monitoring the teams’ performance and bringing out the best in every team member. We achieve our biggest success when working together, so clear communication is key, as is collaboration and teamwork. You’re also in charge of creating the teams' organisational structure, project objectives and working procedures.

Your project management skills will also be of great value as you set up clear project cost plans and allot a sufficient budget to achieve optimal results and meet the company’s target profits. A structured and organised approach with an eye for detail is crucial. Also, part of your job is to attend project meetings as required, develop monthly reports and carry out contract administration. Furthermore, you’ll oversee negotiations, analyses and promotions of quality control systems.

Core to our reputation is our strong focus on health & safety and on sustainability, and you’ll be expected to keep these front of mind at all times.

Boosting client relationships
Helping clients achieve success is what JLL does best—and your role is an extension of this tradition. To effectively help our clients, you’ll identify their needs and constraints and work around these challenges.  Of course, as you represent our client’s best interests, you’ll also keep in mind JLL’s own business needs—thereby striving to achieve an ideal balance between the two.

You’ll need to work well with various stakeholders, leading from the front while also taking the time to understand their points of view.  You also have to effectively represent our clients throughout the whole duration of the projects. Do you have an enormous talent for promotion? If so, this is the perfect job for you, as you’ll also represent and promote the company throughout the project.

How JLLs Project Managers Succeed.
•    Engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders and see things from their perspective.
•    Are driven to succeed and love achieving challenging goals.
•    Bring a structured and organised approach to everything they do.
•    Communicate and collaborate to achieve success.
•    Thrive under pressure and deal effectively with tight deadlines and high expectations.

What are we seeking?

A Seasoned Expert

  • The ideal candidate is naturally driven and ambitious and loves solving difficult problems.
  • You will exhibit high-level management skills, resilience and composure under pressure.
  • Hold a degree in a relevant property-related discipline.
  • You should have established yourself as a design, construction and project management professional with a proven track record in profit planning, business development, networking and marketing.

An Effective Communicator

  • You will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • You’ll create an environment where all team members are encouraged to contribute and achieve enthusiastic and effective contributions to the project.
  • You’ll actively search for improvement opportunities and empower the team to implement them.

What you can expect from us:

You’ll join an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture. One where the best inspire the best. Where like-minded people work naturally together to achieve great things, join us to develop your strengths and enjoy a fulfilling career full of varied experiences.
