Job description

Jacobs has provided professional services to the Australian Department of Defence since 1997. Our services include strategic advisory services, capability development, program and project management, acquisition and sustainment support, commercial management, and training development.

We are looking for Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers to join our existing team in the Darwin Office and assist in the development and delivery of Defence Projects.

Jacobs are Project Manager of over $2bn worth of medium to large-scale projects to support the ongoing sustainment and increased capability of Army, Air Force and Navy in the NT. Project opportunities can take you anywhere within the Defence estate. From new/ expanded/ refurbished facilities and infrastructure such as weapons systems, explosive ordnance storage, aircraft and vehicle training and maintenance, to satellite communications or living in accommodation – whatever Defence needs to help protect the Indo-Pacific region, we are project managing it for them!

It is an essential requirement of these roles that applicants must be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (hold Australian Citizenship - http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva/)

  • Tertiary qualifications in a construction related field
  • Project Management experience. 
  • A strong understanding and proven experience with a range of delivery methodologies Head Contract, Managing Contractor and Design and Construct is preferable
  • Strong communications and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Have a good understanding of managing complex engineering design packages
  • An ability to articulate and role model clear expectations on client responsiveness, client orientation, delivery efficiency and solution innovation
