The position will support the Restaurant Manager in the efficient management of the Customs House Restaurant and supervision of the Restaurant team to ensure excellent service to guests in our award-winning restaurant. A commitment to the ongoing success of the Restaurant is essential.Patina at Customs House is a modern and contemporary restaurant offering relaxed dining with an emphasis on paddock to plate philosophy, Patina offers a unique shared dining experience overlooking the Brisbane River. The restaurant is located within Customs House which is one of Brisbane's heritage icons also includes private event spaces and the kitchen will cater to events both on and offsite.The successful applicant will need to be highly organised with effective interpersonal skills and an ability to work under pressure. You will need to be a leader and a dedicated team member with a customer driven focus and a commitment to deliver the highest quality product and service.Staff are required to fulfil 38 hours per week across a seven-day roster including weekends, and evenings.Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Supervision and hands on service in the Restaurant and assisting as required in the Banquets DepartmentAssisting the Customs House Management team in its daily business operationsResponsible for the maintenance of service and operational standardsLiaising with Events, Kitchen and Restaurant, and anticipating requests, solving problems, site inspections and providing general information for visitorsEnsuring restaurant security and locking of premises at end of the shiftPOS and EMS accounts, reports and maintenanceStocktaking and maintenance of par levels, ordering of beverage linen and dry store stock and ensuring adequate organisation of cellar, service and back of house areasFinalisation of client accounts and production of banquet reports, handling and supervision of cash floatsThis is a Full-time (100% FTE), Fixed-term position until December 2026. At Food and Beverage Grade 5, the full-time equivalent base salary will be $65,818.65 plus superannuation of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be $77,007.82 per annum.About YouCurrent Liquor Approved Manager Qualification (RSA & RMLV).Current First Aid Certificate.General and specialized skilled duties in a fine dining room or restaurant.Detailed knowledge of beverage purchasing and control.Well-developed supervisory skills.Highly developed organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.Sound understanding of workplace, health, and safety issues.High level of communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-oriented focus.High standard of personal grooming and hygiene.Understanding of industrial relations.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
