About the Role
The JBS Northern Shipping & Documentation team are currently recruiting an Assistant Shipping & Documentation Manager to join the business in a newly created position. Reporting to the GM Shipping & Logistics, this role is responsible for managing and coordinating the Shipping and Documentation teams to ensure export orders are processed efficiently, and the department continues to meet the needs of the business and adheres to business deadlines.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and mentoring the Shipping & Docs team to ensure effective employee engagement
- Supporting the GM with shipping lines, freight companies and other stakeholders as required
- Understanding the Shipping & Docs process
- Providing customer service to both internal and external customers in relation to Shipping & Docs reporting and processes
- Assisting with the recruitment and training of new team members
- Supporting relevant team members to create and optimise reporting using in-house systems
- Focusing on continuous improvement and seeking out opportunities for improvements
- Supporting the new ERP project on behalf of the Shipping & Docs teams
- Participating in any team, department or company projects as required
- Ensuring a high level of data and corporate security is maintained
- Ensuring the company values are maintained and lived up to at all times by the Shipping & Docs department
- Supporting team members on a daily basis to ensure they are engaged and meeting task requirements
About You
- Demonstrated understanding of logistics processes and concerns; export experience advantageous
- Ability to identify basic cause & effect relationships
- Responds calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
- Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-skill
- Excellent attention to detail
- Enjoys being 'hands-on'
- Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
