We’re looking for a hands-on, optimistic and detail orientated Assistant Venue Manager who has a proven record building, training and developing teams. You will spend most of your time dedicated to people and the remaining time dedicated to profit.
This role will be responsible overseeing all Duty Managers and Supervisors, and for assisting the Venue Manager with the smooth, efficient and profitable running of our Cascade Brewery Bar in South Hobart, Tasmania.
Full-time role, working 38 hours p/week, rotating roster Mon-Sun, some Weekend and night shifts required.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day to day running of the venue, ensuring that all departments are prepared, ready and staffed appropriately
- Ensuring customer service, venue and staff presentation and product quality and levels are maintained to agreed standards at all times, especially when absent
- Helping to maintain GP targets for both Food and Beverage and reduce wastage
- Ensuring that proper lock-up and security procedures are strictly adhered to by managers and supervisors at all times
- Demonstrating a hands on day-to-day operational approach and effective time management
- Ensuring that required maintenance is carried out promptly and efficiently by contracted or preferred suppliers
About You
Looking for an individual that can work autonomously and takes initiative to solve problems or conflict. Demonstrates a proactive mindset with a high attention to detail.
- Experience as a Venue/Duty Manager in high volume venues
- High levels of initiative, motivation, leadership and effective communication
- Effective time management and experience delivering on KPIs
- Ability to report on sales data, stock and labour
