Our client, a leading commercial Real Estate financier and investor based in Sydney, is seeking an accomplished Associate Director. The firm, which manages several billion dollars on behalf of institutional and high-net-worth investors, is renowned for its innovative investment strategies and robust portfolio.
Due to sustained business growth, an opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Associate Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient execution of a variety of credit transactions. Additionally, this role includes the oversight and management of a team of analysts and associates, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of analysis and investment papers.
Upon successful hire, you will be responsible for the following:
- Lead a team of Analysts & Associates in investment analysis and transaction management.
- Structure and negotiate terms for subordinated credit and complex/high-risk credit investments.
- Project management and deal leadership in the execution and analysis of investments, including;
- Ensuring accuracy in preparation of transaction modelling;
- Leading the preparation of transaction review and investment committee papers and term sheets.
- Assisting with the presentation of transaction proposals to the investment committee.
- Assisting or leading documentation review and negotiation – ensuring it is in line with relevant approvals and investment best practices;
- Overseeing and providing the management of the drawdown process for investments.
- Delivery and ongoing review and management of investment business plans, including continuing review and understanding of performance.
- Manage external stakeholder relationships throughout the deal life cycle and ensure negotiated outcomes are consistent with relevant approvals.
- Ensure delivery of all fund, investor and transaction reporting on time and to the requisite assessment standard.
- Contribute to the training and development of Associates and Analysts.
- Assist other investment team members in transaction management when capacity constraints are evident.
- Assist with ancillary activities to the Investment Team, including recruitment, investor relations, capital raising initiatives and business strategy.
- Promote company policy, people and culture initiatives, company values and firm objectives.
- 5-10 years experience across relevant disciplines in Real Estate gained in investment banking, private equity, corporate banking, treasury, advisory or investment management.
- A tertiary qualification with a preference for related fields to finance, commerce, construction, Real Estate or legal.
- Advanced Real Estate and financial structural excel modelling skills.
- Understanding of construction risks, documentation and contract risks.
- General understanding of principles of taxation impacting investment decisions.

- Highly developed written and quantitative skills, supplemented by excellent verbal presentation skills.
- Develop, maintain and extend internal and external networks;
- Ongoing awareness and knowledge of critical Real Estate market transactions, investment environment and fundamental industry regulatory changes.
- Display a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, a capacity to work self-sufficiently under pressure while exercising sound judgement;
