The Role
As a Senior Associate Hydrogeologist/Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing a range of technical and project management tasks to ensure the successful delivery of hydrogeological projects. Your expertise in geology, hydrogeology, and numerical modelling will be key to achieving exceptional outcomes
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations and manage associated travel requirements
- Design, plan, coordinate, and oversee field and office study programs
- Lead and supervise teams of hydrogeologists on assigned projects
- Review, interpret, and analyze field and laboratory data
- Develop high-quality hydrogeological models and conduct modelling studies
- Manage the analysis and reporting of investigations and studies
- Produce accurate technical reports to a high standard
- Develop project-specific design solutions as required
- Review reports from other staff members
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet project timeframes
- Ensure sound financial management for all projects within your control
- Maintain strong client liaison and prepare winning proposals
Key Criteria
- Relevant post graduate degree, equivalent to MEngSc.
- Demonstrated excellence in geology and hydrogeology
- Expertise in soil mechanics and rock mechanics within your specialty
- Proficiency in numerical modelling and analysis, with familiarity in relevant software
- Competency in engineering geology
- Extensive experience in field logging and a wide range of field activities
- Strong judgement and the ability to identify and manage risks
- Ability to mentor and supervise junior staff for successful project outcomes
- Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports
- Effective communication and client management abilities
- Ownership of proposals and a track record of winning projects
