In this role you will work with an Investment team of around forty other investment professionals in Melbourne and Sydney. This position will be particularly focused on the supporting the Portfolio Management capability of the Delegated Investments business, which offers a service designing each client’s investment solution and then takes responsibility for investing and managing the portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Product and Operations, you will use your experience to help support the continued development of the operations function in Australia. This position of Associate will require you to apply your experience and develop your skills across a range of disciplines.
The Role
- Developing a transition timeline and plan for each transaction
- Coordinating external and internal parties to ensure deadlines are met
- Working with Custodians to set up new positions ready for execution
- Coordinating transactional & cash documentation and ensuring it is completed in a timely fashion.
- Working within a well-established process and control framework to mitigate operational risk
- Managing multiple projects of different complexity at the same time.
- Account reconciliations
- Drafting instructions for authorised signatories
- Processing trade instructions directly on to custodian proprietary systems
- Updating internal systems to reflect executed transactions and ongoing static data maintenance.
- General fund operations duties and administration (arranging signatures, faxing and filing)
- Risk-management excellence and adherence to appropriate technical review procedures
- Contribution to the development of the team’s systems and processes
The Requirements
- Australian financial services experience, at a superannuation fund, fund manager, custodian, or Trustee business
- Operations knowledge or experience, for example working with custodians and counterparties
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Desire to build relationships, interact and consult effectively with internal colleagues, clients and other outside parties on an independent basis
- Team focused attitude and working practice to deliver innovative, timely and accurate solutions for a diverse range of situations and clients
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to apply your knowledge and experience to communicate effectively, with demonstrated ability to summarise complex information concisely and cohesively
- Apply project management and organisational skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Desire to build your knowledge of the wider Investments business, its clients and its values
