The Role
This middle office function provides support to the MLC’s Specialist Managers within MLC Asset Management. In this dynamic role, not only will you play a vital role in daily operations, but you will also support various change initiatives including client transitions, portfolio on-boarding/off-boarding and custody migration work impacting Investment Operations. This role is a key conduit between Investment Operations, investment teams and various Project stakeholders within the Asset Management business, providing them with the support required to deliver desirable outcomes for our clients and our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary support to the Derivatives team and Fixed Interest team
- Secondary/backup support for other asset classes such as Equities and Managed Accounts
- Providing operating support to Front office/Portfolio Managers
- Daily trade processing, matching, settlement and Cash Forecasting
- Reconciliations
- Resolving pre and post trade queries
- Performing ad hoc portfolio analysis and reporting, as required.
- Support the Collateral Management process
- Review operational incidents and implement preventative measures
- Managing clients (internal and external) and related external third party’s queries
- Supporting the Reporting of OTC Trade & Life Cycle Events
- Lead, Support and implement new business and Change activities/initiatives where required
- Support, participate, review and co-ordinate various business requirements necessitate the delivery of the Custody migration project
- Onboarding and maintenance of Counterparties, Clearers, Custodians and PBs as relevant
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Extensive experience in Investments / Assets Management / Finance experience within Investment Operations
- Strong technical understanding of Middle Office operations
- Good understanding of the regulatory environment impacting Investment Operations
- Understanding of OTC reporting requirements are highly regarded
- Good understanding of various asset classes and financial instruments
- Fundamental understanding of the operational processes supporting Derivatives, OTC products are non-negotiable
- Experience in systems including Bloomberg, CTM, DTCC, XSPRISA, FX Connect/GTSS, ACADIA
- Ability to work in a pressurised and deadline-driven environment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (written and verbal)
