About the Role

Join our team as an Associate Midwife Manager on a Ongoing Part Time basis to work at Casey.The MGP AMM must demonstrate a broad range of midwifery skills and knowledge, with proven experience in all areas of maternity care, to provide all midwifery care relevant to each individual woman’s needs. In addition, the role requires:

  • contribution to quality maternity care through ongoing professional development of self and others, research data generation, clinical supervision, and involvement with clinical practice guidelines
  • Integration and understanding of the vision, purpose, and values of the organisation and role model these into daily practice
  • the midwife to be cognisant of the scope of practice for midwives and demonstrate competence in domains identified by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). The midwife will practice in accordance with Monash Health maternity clinical practice guidelines and within the parameters of their employment.

    About Casey Maternity Service   

    • Expanding services to Casey Hospital has led to our ability to care for women with varying levels of complexity, as we now have critical care services on site to support their journey   
    • Casey Hospital services the Casey and Cardinia catchment areas, the most rapidly growing area in the state. Our birth numbers are growing in line with the population growth in this area 
    • Casey Hospital runs an offsite pregnancy clinic in a state of the art community clinic at Pakenham 
    • Casey Hospital provides services specific to younger women and vulnerable women through our young women’s and ADAPT clinics 
    • Casey Hospital operates a Pregnancy Assessment Unit servicing women from 16 weeks gestation through to 28 days post birth. 
    • Casey Hospital has two large bathrooms designed to accommodate water immersion in labour and birth. 

      About You

      To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

      • AHPRA registration to [practice independently as a Registered Midwife.
      • Have previous experience in Midwifery Group Practice
      • Demonstrate competence in IV cannulation, perineal suturing, fetal scalp electrode application, amniotomy, speculum examination, cervical ripening balloon insertion, and neonatal discharge examination.
      • Desirable knowledge of operations of a homebirth program.
      • Demonstrated consistent FSEP practitioner level 3.
      • Demonstrate consolidated skills working across the full continuum of the pregnancy journey.
      • Ability to work independently as well as consulting and collaborating with others to deliver outcomes
      • Ability to work an on-call roster in line with theNurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector)(Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement Section 107.
