Are you a highly skilled and self-motivated Perioperative Registered Nurse, who is looking to continue to develop your management skills as part of an already motivated and achieving Perioperative Management team?
Our well-equipped Operating Suite comprises eight operating rooms plus two Cath Labs and a state of the art Hybrid Theatre along with a 14 bed recovery room. Surgical specialties include cardiac surgery, thoracic, spinal, general surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology, obstetrics, orthopaedics, urology, plastics, ENT, vascular and dental. Services are supported by an 11 bed Intensive Care Unit.
About the Role
Permanent full-time or part-time positions for the right candidates.
Key responsibilities:
- You will facilitate the smooth operation of the Perioperative Services Department with a can-do attitude and strong customer service focus.
- Apply advanced nursing practices in planning, implementing and evaluating care in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
- Provide a support role to all members of the nursing team, acting as a role model and resource person within the clinical area.
- You will provide leadership and direction to the department to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the unit and hospital.
- Your positive attitude, ability to prioritise, delegate and adapt, along with your excellent time management skills are all of critical importance for this role.
- Drive positive improvement in a key portfolio of your interest, reporting to measureable KPI targets.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Registered Nurse with current full AHPRA registration
- Minimum of 5 years clinical Perioperative Scrub/ Circulating Nurse experience. Experience also in Anaesthetics / PACU will be highly regarded.
- Sound knowledge of the ACORN Professional Standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
- Ability to ensure excellence in customer service
- Advanced problem solving skills and negotiation skills with the ability to think critically and prioritize workloads
- Strong desire to successfully enhance team performance and experience
- Perioperative Post graduate qualification (desirable )
