The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (Inpatient Unit – Surgical 23 Hour) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Maintain higher levels of clinical knowledge and skills
- Display awareness and management skills in coordinating staffing requirements and allocations
- Optimise patient care working with and coordinating multidisciplinary plans of care for patients
- Display strong troubleshooting attributes and demonstrate effective management of situations
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

The 23 Hour Unit is a 10 bed Inpatient Unit specialising in surgical patients both emergent and non-emergent. The Surgical Services offered in the Unit include minor general, orthopaedic and plastic surgery and is located at Robina Hospital.
The role requires the Associate Nurse Unit Manager (A/NUM) to work as the team leader, is included in the nurse: patient ratio and is required to deliver direct patient care.
