Overview
Edith Cowan University (ECU) is a leading multi-campus university in Western Australia serving communities nationally and internationally. For 17 years in a row, ECU has achieved a 5 (out of 5) star rating for teaching quality in the 2024 Good Universities Guide (GUG). ECU is ranked in the worlds Top 100 universities under 50 years old in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) Young Universities Rankings, and in the Top 400 THE World University Rankings 2024.

The ECU Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) program equips students with the knowledge and skills to make a meaningful impact on peoples lives. Accredited by the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia Limited (OTC) and approved by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OTBA), this program ensures graduates meet the highest professional standards. Practical experience begins in the first year, allowing students to integrate their learning in real-world settings. Fieldwork placements throughout the four-year course provide valuable exposure to diverse populations and needs. ECU Occupational Therapy graduates enjoy excellent employment outcomes. Registered occupational therapists work in various settings, including acute care, rehabilitation, long-term care, private practice, and community roles. Employers value ECU graduates for their practical skills, critical thinking abilities, and commitment to improving clients' quality of life. ECU emphasises research and scholarly development. Students have opportunities to engage in research projects, explore evidence-based practices, and contribute to the field. The program fosters creativity, communication, and scientific inquiry, preparing students to address complex occupational challenges.

The Occupational Therapy team pride themselves on excellence in teaching and research, working closely with local, national, and international health care organisations to provide undergraduate and postgraduate education. With campuses in both Joondalup and Bunbury and a new City campus on the horizon, along with contemporary digital learning technologies, our team produce excellent clinicians and future health leaders through higher education.
