Job Description

The Studio Broadcast Operations team work together to deliver live studio broadcasting of Nine's locally produced television shows, such as Today and news and sporting programs, as well as other local and ad hoc productions.

This is a rare and unique entry-level opportunity for a Trainee to join the team. The Traineeship program will run until November 2023, and will see you contribute to the day-to-day operations across a range of Studio Broadcast Operation teams, with a focus on the Studio Broadcast Audio team.

Working under the guidance of the Audio Department you will gain hands-on training and skills as an Audio Assistant, which involves working on the studio floor to set up, test and operate audio equipment.

These roles will be shift work including 0400 start time, weekends and public holidays.

Day to day you will:

Develop skills by rotating through and contributing to the day-to-day operations of a range of Broadcast Operations teams

Gain exposure to supporting live shows and sporting events and learn the technical requirements that enable shows to go to air

Support studio coordination, resources and equipment as needed

What you will bring to the role:

A passion for TV broadcast and technology

Excellent communication and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail

A proactive and solution-oriented focus, and a keen desire to learn

The ability to work autonomously and part of a team

A positive, can-do attitude and a solid work ethic

Experience doing early morning shift work in a fast-paced environment would be advantageous (e.g. customer service, hospitality, health care, etc.)

To be successful in this role you must have:

The ability to reliably and consistently get to North Sydney for the 4am start each day

The flexibility to work shift work across a 7-day roster, weekends and public holidays

A valid Drivers Licence

Full work rights to work in Australia permanently
