Job Description:Downer Utilities Power Project Substations is seeking a High Voltage and Industrial Electrician with a high level of trade competency to safely and efficiency install primary plant, control and protection equipment within high voltage environment.

Responsibilities:Some key responsibilities include:The role will include work in Utility industry Zone Substations, Terminal Stations and Customer High Voltage Customer Substations. Current long term site locations include Keysborough, Werribee and Brooklyn.In this role, you will be responsible for the Construction and installation tasks in accordance with appropriate standards, work practices and regulations.The ability to identify and implement risk control measures to assigned work tasks and resolving site issues will be essential.You will have strong practical knowledge around the installation of High Voltage primary equipment, control/ protection equipment and associated cabling.
Qualifications:To be successful you will have experience in at least some of the following:
- Experience in Construction of Electrical Installations and in Sub Stations Work favourable (not a specific requirement)
- Minimum of 3 years as a High Voltage Electrician essential. A Class Electrical Licence essential. Valid driver?s license essential.
- Current VESI Training and Authorities for field work compliance.
- Current Green Book and Blue Book training.
- Practical knowledge of installation the of High Voltage primary plant, control/protection equipment including associated cabling.
- Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of quality management principles, OH&S and environmental awareness.
- Ability to work safely and understand best practice in a construction environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
