Automation Engineers: you are in HOT demand, and we would love to connect with you! Our client is looking for several Automation Engineering superstars to be based in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide for a full-time permanent engagement. Please note that due to the requirements of the role, you must be an Australian Citizen and have a current NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance to be eligible.
This role will see you apply your expertise and high-level technical skills in automation design, architecture, development and deployment of the Automation Framework in a Defence environment, so if you're an Automation Engineering professional with State or Federal Government experience, this is for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in CI/CD Pipeline Development- Help design, build, and maintain automated build and deployment pipelines. Collaborate with senior engineers to automate code compilation, testing, and deployment.
- Version Control and Repository Management- Work with version control systems, such as Git, to manage code repositories. Assist in creating and maintaining branching and merging strategies.
- Deployment Support- Help deploy applications to various environments, including development, testing, and production. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving deployment issues.
- Scripting and Automation- Develop and maintain automation scripts to support CI/CD activities. Contribute to the automation of routine tasks to improve efficiency.
- Documentation- Document CI/CD processes, workflows, and configurations. Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for reference.
- Monitoring and Reporting- Assist in setting up monitoring and alerting systems for CI/CD pipelines. Contribute to generating reports on pipeline performance and reliability.
- Collaboration- Collaborate with other team members, including developers and operations personnel. Work closely with senior engineers to enhance CI/CD processes.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Basic understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.
- Strong skills in Redhat AAP.
- Knowledge of version control systems, especially Git.
- Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
- Familiarity with networking concepts and experience on Cisco, Juniper, F5's etc. would be highly desirable.
- Interest in learning about containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- An understanding of software development and testing methodologies is a plus.
- Help deploy applications to various environments, including development, testing, and production.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving deployment issues.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Most importantly, a “Can do” attitude!
