Military bases needing AVMED Doctors:
 

• Albatross (NSW) – Pyree

- Part time – Week 1 Wednesday to Friday, Week 2 Tuesday to Friday (7.5 hour shifts)

- Base (excluding super) hourly rate range = $175 to $196.56 – final rate determined by operations (converted into total remuneration hourly rate = $188.14 to $210.61)

• Tindal (QLD)

- Fixed term contract (minimum 6 months) – this would be a full time position at Katherine for the duration of the contract

- Permanent/ongoing 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO (rostering in line with flights available)

- Some of the incentives/allowances considered and negotiated (dependent upon level of commitment) by operations

- Flights, on base accommodation, car hire, $50 a day meals/sundries provided

- Any fixed term placement greater than 6 months, would include flights to and from home location for a long weekend (? Every 6 – 8 weeks)

- Remuneration AVMO $213.40/hr (Base excluding super)     

About the Defence:

ADF Health Services provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.

You will be responsible for delivery of primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.

You will form part of a multidisciplinary team working toward the shared purpose of achieving and maintaining the health and wellbeing of Defence members.

Requirement:

• Australian Citizenship
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM), Vocational Registration or equivalent suitable experience and training as assessed by Commander JHC.
• Minimum 2 years’ full time post graduate general practitioner experience within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
• Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
• Basic military aviation medicine course or equivalent. This includes:
• Australian Defence Force Aviation Medical Officer Course;
• United States Air Force Primary Aerospace Medicine Course, US Navy or US Army basic courses; or
• Equivalent military AVMED course as determined by Commanding Officer AVMED
• Civilian AVMED course, with appropriate military experience as determined by Commanding Officer AVMED
