Talent Street is looking for an Azure DevOps Engineer for a 6-month contract with one of our Victorian State Government clients in Melbourne.
Role Purpose:
To develop infrastructure as code in Azure for a data platform for the Unified Data Storage project to integrate with various source systems and Snowflake. Collaborate with the Solutions Architect to ensure fit-for-purpose build in accordance with the organization's enterprise architecture principals. Work with vendors and to deliver best practice Enterprise Architecture approved solution.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage the end-to-end engineering and development process in Azure for the delivery of the Unified Data Storage solution.
- Maintain code repositories, back-ups.
- Assist in troubleshooting/debugging issues associated with the platform.
- Periodically participate in deployments and post deployment testing.
- Exercise robust version control practices in GIT.
- Continuously seek to improve code quality, deployment efficiency, system performance and stability.
- Collaborate with enterprise security to ensure platform is designed and built to meet security guidelines.
- Provide subject matter expertise to IT delivery teams and other parties (such as vendors) throughout the project lifecycle.
Looking for:
- Experience with the Azure infrastructure and data platforms within the Azure ecosystem.
- Extensive experience in DevOps principals and tools in Azure.
- Strong understanding of data management for operational and informational purposes – including: reference and master data management; data integration methods and technologies to support information, analytics, and insights.
- A broad knowledge of IT and business standards and best practice including Agile, ITIL and Prince2 methodologies.
Preferred:
- Strong understanding of cloud IaaS and PaaS technologies preferred – especially Azure.
- Experience in integrating systems to Azure using AIS preferred.
- Experience in a Utilities business (Asset Management, Geospatial, SCADA, Finance, Customer) preferred.
- Key Systems experience of Maximo, ESRI, Mosaic and PEGA systems will be highly regarded
