SalaryThe role will work with both projects solution architects, project team members, and key technical stakeholders to ensure CIAM and MSB project Azure environments are designed, built, and maintained in accordance with best practice and Council standards.
They will specify technical requests, adhering to existing change practices and aligning to and improving patterns with Technical Service Managers.
Responsibilities:
- Azure Infrastructure Management: Design, work with operational teams to deploy, and manageAzure infrastructure components, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, and AzureActive Directory
- Resource Provisioning: Create and manage Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager templates, Azure DevOps, Terraform, or ARM templates.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring solutions and perform regular optimization of Azure resources to ensure cost-efficiency and high availability
- Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance policies in Azure, including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption
- Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline Azure provisioning and management tasks
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Set up and manage Azure-based backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity
- Scaling and Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and make recommendations for scaling resources as needed to meet performance requirements
- Validating and testing - Qualifying technical delivery of components and service
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Azure-related technical issues, including infrastructure, network, and application problems
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and security experts, to ensure Azure services meet business needs.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of Azure infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Azure Certification: Microsoft Azure certifications, such as Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect, are preferred
- Experience: Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing Azure solutions, including infrastructure, networking, and security components
- Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and experience with automation tools (e.g., Azure Automation, Ansible)
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC tools and practices, such as ARM templates,Azure DevOps, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Networking: Strong understanding of Azure networking concepts, including virtual networks, VPNs, and ExpressRoute
- Security: Knowledge of Azure security best practices, including identity and access management, network security groups, and Azure Security Center
- Monitoring and Logging: Experience with Azure monitoring and logging solutions, such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
- Backup and Recovery: Proficiency in Azure backup and disaster recovery solutions, including Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to resolve complex technical issues
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving Azure technologies and best practices.
- Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for source control and release management.
