Job DescriptionThis role joins the Cairns Special Mission Engineering team as a B2 AME or LAME reporting to the Senior Base Engineers, for the completion of assigned aircraft maintenance and modifications, for a fixed term 12 month modification program.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Hold Safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a Zero Harm and an incident / injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position
- Perform the duties of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics
- Ensure all aircraft maintenance is carried out in line with the Aircraft Maintenance manuals, MOE, procedures manuals and responsible CAMO requirements
- Responsible for the general condition, upkeep of the hangar and workshop
- Compliance to the FRMS and WHSMSM policies and procedures
- Perform any other duties as directed by the SBE/HoM
- Be Responsible for personal tool control and equipment used in maintenance
- Report and defect found during maintenance to certifying engineer
- Carry out aircraft wiring and systems modifications as directed
QualificationsEssential Criteria- Australian Citizen
- Willing to relocate to Cairns if not already a resident
- Have sound communication and troubleshooting skills
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
- Avionics modification experience
- Flexibility to travel at times
- Ability to read and interpret engineering orders for modifications
Desirable Criteria- Both line maintenance and heavy maintenance experience
- Cert IV Aeroskills - Mechanical
- Dash 8 Experience
- Dash 8 Part 66 type rating
- Confined space training
- Current first aid Certificate
- Forklift license
