The Opportunity

The Bakery Team Leader will oversee the Bakery Team and equipment, ensuring daily prioritisation of shift activities. They will oversee all shift’s, ensuring safety and quality is always a priority as well as labour is utilised effectively, and all site targets are met.

The Accountabilities

• Accurately monitor & encourage behaviour that recognises the importance of safety, quality & excellence in all aspects of work and drives continuous improvement culture
• Ensure the creation of an effective production plan, ensuring effective use of resource and materials
• Manage the bakery labour and expenditure to budget
• Establish and maintain a daily meeting for all bakery members, ensuring it covers Safety, Quality and Delivery metrics
• Manage crewing to balance demand. Requirements have been communicated to and understood by the team

The Ingredients for Success

Just like you can’t make a Tim Tam without chocolate, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role;

• Commitment to a full-time role Monday-Friday. Current running one bakery shift 5:30-2pm but this role will oversee all shifts and the need to be flexible is essential
• Team Leadership experience essential- minimum 2 years
• Relevant baker qualifications desirable or experience in a food manufacturing environment
• An understanding of team, safety, and quality operating principles
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to work as part of a team
